RF & Wireless Products New Ka-Band High-Power Attenuators Offer Flat Frequency Response Link Microtek has launched a new range of high-power attenuators that offer a flat response right across their specified frequency band of 26.5 to 40 GHz, making them ideal for use in the testing of military or commercial Ka-band satellite-communications systems. Known as the AM28J-XXMP series, the devices are available with attenuation levels ranging from 10 to 30 dB, while a microwave power handling capability of up to 100 W CW enables measurements to be carried out on either TWT (travelling wave tube) or solid-state high-power amplifiers. The attenuators feature a low maximum VSWR of 1.15:1. Consisting of WR28 waveguide elements, internal ceramic loading and external cooling fins for optimum thermal dissipation, these compact attenuators have an end profile measuring just 78.5 x 29.5 mm including heatsinks, with lengths varying according to the attenuation level specified. The devices are fabricated from lightweight aluminium, finished with an Iridite coating and satin black paint. UBR320 flanges are supplied as standard, while other flange styles available on request to suit specific customer requirements. ■ Link Microtek, Ltd. sales@linkmicrotek.com www.linkmicrotekeng.com 65 GHz Coax Attenuators Handle 1 W CW FMW, Ltd. announced design and sales support for 65 GHz coaxial attenuators using 1.85 mm connectors. P1dB, Inc. offers a series of these attenuators with available fixed attenuation values of 3 (P1AT-18MF- 65G1W-3), 6, 10, 20 and 30 (P1AT-18MF- 65G1W-30) dB. With a maximum VSWR of 1.35:1, these P1dB attenuators find applications in test and measurement production environments and optical networking. The table below defines the part numbers for the associated fixed values. ■ RFMW, Ltd. info@rfmw.com www.rfmw.com 1 to 18 GHz SMA 2-Way Power Divider P1dB, an RF and Microwave component supplier, released a new ultra-broadband 2-way SMA power divider operating from 1 to 18 GHz. The P1PD-SAF-0118G30W-2 SMA power divider is a Wilkinson RF splitter that is capable of handling 30 watts of RF power. The RF power divider is in stock and is available at P1dB. ■ P1dB, Inc. sales@p1db.com www.p1db.com New Ranges of Surface Mount Microminiature Differential LVDS Oscillators Mercury Electronics Europe has introduced three new ranges of surface mount microminiature differential LVDS oscillators that offer femtosecond integrated phase jitter. Offering high performance at highly competitive prices, the new HDK series oscillators also offer superior phase noise. All three series are available with 2.5 or 3.3 V supply voltage offering frequencies from 10 to 220 MHz (3.3 V) and 13.5 to 220 MHz (2.5 V) with differential LVDS (low voltage differential signalling) square wave output. HDK3261 series oscillators are housed in 3.2 x 2.5 x 1 mm surface mount packages, while HDK5361 measure 5 x 3.2 x 1.2 mm and HDK 5761 are 7 x 5 x 1.8 mm devices. All offer typical phase jitter of 300 fs with typical phase noise of -144dBc/Hz at 100 kHz. Specifications include current consumption of 16 mA typical, start-up time of 10 ms maximum and ageing of ±3 ppm per year maximum for all models. Operating temperature ranges from -10 to +70 °C (commercial) and -40 to +85 °C (industrial) are available across the range. Supplied on 16 mm tape in quantities of 1000 pieces per reel, the new HDK series differential LVDS oscillators are ideal for wide range of volume applications including flat panel displays for consumer TVs, video streaming systems via external cables (e.g. LDI), high speed serial communications links such as Serial ATA & FireWire, SONET, xDSL, SDH, set-top box and Ethernet cards. ■ Mercury Electronics Europe www.mecxtal-europe.com 42 hf-praxis 1/2016

The HMC753LP4E operates between 1 and 11 GHz, providing up to 16.5 dB of small signal gain, 1.5 dB noise figure, and output IP3 of 30 dBm, while requiring only 55 mA from a 5 V supply. The P1dB output power of up to 18 dBm enables the LNA to function as an LO driver for balanced, I/Q or image reject mixers. The HMC753LP4E features I/Os that are DC-blocked and internally matched to 50 Ohms, making it ideal for high capacity microwave radios or VSAT applications. It is also suitable for military, aerospace and test instrumentation applications. The new LNA is housed in a 24-lead, leadless 4 x 4 mm plastic surface mount package. It is also available in die form as the HMCALH444. ■ Richardson RFPD www.richardsonrfpd.com Frequency Mixers Operate Across full Ka, Q, U, V, E & W Millimeter Wave Bands Pasternack added new millimeter wave (mm-wave) waveguide frequency mixers available in six down-conversion and six up-conversion models that cover full Ka, Q, U, V, E, and W bands. Designs utilize high performance GaAs Schottky Barrier Beam Lead Diodes in balanced configurations that require a 13 dBm LO drive and display low levels of conversion loss. Pasternack’s new waveguide mixers, also referred to as waveguide converters, are a key building block component of mmwave receivers used to downconvert very high frequency signals to usable RF frequencies for cost effective signal processing. They are also very useful for test and measurement applications to convert signals to frequency levels that can be measured with available equipment. Similarly, these mixers can be used to efficiently up-convert RF signals to millimeter wave frequencies for point-to-point radio and millimeter wave radar applications. The new waveguide frequency mixers from Pasternack operate over RF and LO frequency bands ranging from 26.5 to 110 GHz with an IF frequency covering DC to 18 GHz. Depending on the model, conversion loss ranges from 6 to 9 dB typical with 20 dB typical RF to LO isolation. Maximum RF input power is +5 dBm and performance is specified over an operating temperature of 0 to 50 °C. Rugged gold plated package designs are thermally stable for high reliability and feature compact dimensions with integrated waveguide sizes ranging from WR-28 to WR-10. ■ Pasternack www.pasternack.com BAW Filter Offers Stable Performance for Band 25 Uplink RFMW, Ltd. announced design and sales support for a Low-Drift BAW filter created for Band 25 repeater uplink applications centered at 1882.5 MHz. Qorvo’s 885048 has 65 MHz of usable bandwidth and can handle up to 1 W of RF input power. Featuring a low insertion loss of 2.3 dB max, the Qorvo 885048 offers single-input, single-output operation.
