AWR NI AWR Design

AWR NI AWR Design Environment Accelerating RF/ Microwave Designs From Concept to Product The NI AWR Design Environment platform tackles the design challenges of today’s highly-integrated RF/microwave devices being driven by nextgeneration communications and radar systems such as 5G, IoT, and smart vehicles. As component performance requirements become more stringent due to market demands, designers must deliver novel designs with unique topologies and architectures based on greater exploration of the design space. To meet these challenges, NI AWR software focuses on RF/microwave design with an emphasis on expediting all stages of design, from initial starts using powerful network synthesis to circuit/system and EM simulation technology for performance optimization. Coupled with design automation, NI AWR software provides an unmatched user experience from which to accelerate RF/microwave designs from concept to product. MMIC and Modules NI AWR software tools enhance MMIC and integrated multi-technology module development with design flow automation, EM analysis for heterogeneous structures, and dense high-frequency interconnects. Advanced shape preprocessing, hierarchical simulation, and improved EM mapping of stackup layers ensure accurate and timely results. Amplifiers NI AWR Design Environment load-pull capabilities support synchronized source/ load pull, expediting the design of input/output-matching networks. With the introduction of a genetic algorithm-based network synthesis wizard for interactive impedance matching of challenging PA types such as broadband/ multiband and large-periphery power amplifiers, designers can quickly gain insights for developing robust designs faster. RF PCBs NI AWR software products streamline design flows between RF-circuit design and system-board layout tools from leading vendors through a novel PCB Import wizard supporting IPC-2581 (A and B) and ODB++ (V7 and V8) file formats. Design verification flows benefit from shape modifiers to de-feature PCB layout for faster, more robust EM simulation, and automation to manage and simplify PCB analysis. Filters Accelerate filter design with the iFilter NI AWR software filter synthesis wizard, which offers automatic, semiautomatic, or manual extraction and transformation of transmission zeros such as DC, INF, and finite, as well as transformations from over 80 filter types. NI AWR Design Environment software also includes reference projects to further accelerate design starts. Application Highlights Antennas and Phased Arrays MIMO and beam-steering phased-array antennas are enabling technologies for achieving the OTA spatial efficiency called for by 5G and emerging radar applications. NI AWR software offers phased-array models and WINNER II and 5G spatial channel models that enable designers to develop and optimize array configurations, as well as to rapidly validate end-to-end system performance. 5G Communications NI AWR software supports 5G communications with a library of the latest 5G specifications for 5G New Radio (NR) as well as previous 5G candidate waveforms such as FBMC, GFDM, and more. Pre-configured test benches include signal generation and demodulation to allow for full-system simulation and measurements such as BER, ACPR, and EVM.
