The MAAM-011186 is an integrated two stage differential amplifier with embedded digital step attenuator. The amplifier delivers 36 dB MER performance loaded with 39 channels at 52 dBmV per channel. Nominal power dissipation is a low 2.2 watts in a small 7 mm PQFN package making this an ideal solution for high density cards and compact system amplifiers. The MAAM-011186 is an ideal solution to replace legacy discrete solutions. Covering 5 to 300 MHz, this device delivers 22 dB of input and output return loss. The device can function off either an 8 V or 5 V voltage supply to provide the ultimate versatility to the system designer. ■ M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. www.macom.com Products New 2-Way 90 Degree Power Splitter M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (“MACOM”) announced a new 2-way 90 degree Power Splitter ideally suited for CATV, Broadband and FTTx applications. The MAPD-011018 is for customers who need a stable and durable power splitter for CATV, Broadband and FTTx applications. The device is both 260 ºC reflow compatible and surface mountable making it simple and easy to use. Though this power splitter operates from 5 - 250 MHz, its best performance is between 5 - 85 MHz with a phase balance of 90 degrees ±3 degrees. The MAPD- 011018 has an insertion loss of 1.2 dB and 1.5 dB and an isolation of 19.4 dB and 17.9 dB to provide low power loss and high signal separation. Furthermore, this device distributes power through both ports very evenly, due to an amplitude balance of 0.4 dB and 0.2 dB. This power splitter has excellent temperature stability and a maximum power input of 24 dB – altogether providing a power splitter solution optimized for demanding conditions and applications. ■ M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. www.macom.com Products Low Loss, High Isolation SPST Switch Covers DC to 20 GHz Custom MMIC, a developer of performance-driven monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), announced the introduction of the CMD204C3, a DC to 20 GHz single-pole, single-throw (SPST) MMIC switch. Also available in die form (CMD204), the CMD204C3 is the latest control device added by Custom MMIC to its growing library of standard products. The CMD204C3 SPST, at 10 GHz, features a low insertion loss of less than 1 dB, a high-isolation of 50 dB, and a 0.1 dB compression point of +25 dBm. At 20 GHz, the insertion loss is 1.2 dB, the isolation is 40 dB, and the 0.1 dB compression point is +24 dBm. The CMD204C3 is terminated on both RF ports and is therefore fully reciprocal. The CMD204C3 is controlled by complementary logic levels of 0/-5 V, and requires no additional bias supply. Ideal applications for the CMD204C3 include microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, and military end-use. ■ Custom MMIC www.CustomMMIC.com Limiter Diodes Provide Fast Turn-on Time, Low Loss, Low Capacitance, and More SemiGen, Inc., an ISO and ITAR registered RF/Microwave assembly, automated PCB manufacturing, and RF Supply Center, offers Limiter Diodes that feature fast turn-on time, low loss, low capacitance and resistance, and easy bonding. SemiGen’s RF Supply Center provides high-quality Limiter Diodes that can be supplied in chip form or in a choice of packages. SemiGen diodes are proprietary designs that are fabricated in the United States using qualified process partners. The SemiGen SLP7100 series of Limiter Diodes is processed with a high-resistivity epi that has thin, intrinsic layers. These devices are typically in the 2 to 20 micron range of epi thickness and can be gold-doped to achieve specific performance goals. They are used in passive or active limiter designs in the 100 MHz to 30 GHz frequency ranges. Ideal applications for these diodes are waveguide, stripline, coax, or microstrip, in single-or multi-chip devices, depending on power handling and performance goals. ■ SemiGen www.semigen.net 44 hf-praxis 9/2014
