RF & Wireless Software Tokyo Keiki Cuts Design Time for High Power Amplifiers in Half Using Microwave Office and AXIEM Wireless New 40.5–43.5 GHz Receiver with High IIP3 from MACOM Richardson announces immediate availability and full design support capabilities for a new 40.5–43.5 MHz receiver with high third-order intercept point (IIP3) from M/A-COM Technology Solutions The MADC- 010736 is an integrated USB receiver solution with an IIP3 of +9 dBm (typical at IF=2 GHz), a noise figure of 3.5 dB, and a typical conversion gain of 12 dB. The MADC-010736 includes an integrated LO buffer, LO doubler, low noise amplifier (LNA), and balanced image reject mixer. It is ideally-suited for 42 GHz band point-to-point Tokyo Keiki Inc. manufactures and sells marine and aviation products, telecommunication equipment, ecology-related equipment, defense equipment, construction equipment, fluidmeasurement products and railway equipment. Specifically, the company offers advanced radar warning receivers for fighter aircraft that provide critical information on the opposing aircraft’s direction, distance, type, and other data. Tokyo Keiki’s Yusuke Hamada designs X-band high-power amplifiers for radar applications. With extremely demanding deadlines and expectations for product excellence, reduction in design time, high-power characteristics, and miniaturization of device size are key and critical design challenges. To tackle these challenges, Tokyo Keiki relied on AWR’s Microwave Office circuit design software because it enabled seamless collaborative design of both the circuit and electromagnetic (EM) analyses using AWR’s AXIEM EM engine alongside and integrated within radio applications. The integrated mixer provides image rejection of 30 dBc. I and Q mixer outputs are provided, and an external 90° hybrid is required to complete the image rejection function. The device is packaged in a 6 mm laminate package that is RoHS compliant and compatible with reflow temperatures to 260 °C. ■ Richardson RFPD www.richardsonrfpd.com Coexistence Filters Enable Wi-Fi / LTE for Small Cells RFMW announces design and sales support for two BAW filters targeting applications where 2.4GHz WLAN, Bluetooth and Wi-FI products must coexist with 4G LTE and TD-LTE signals. TriQuint‘s 885062 and 885071 coexistence filters offer high rejection in adjacent LTE bands yet come in an industryleading small package measuring 1.4 x 1.2 x 0.46 mm. Small the Microwave Office environment. AWR’s ease of use, simulation speed, and EM analysis accuracy enabled a nearly 50 percent reduction in GaN production time from design to prototypes. The intuitive, smart user interface and seamless integration of circuit, layout, and EM within the AWR Design Environment made Hamada’s life much easier both in terms of lessening the pressure of tight deadlines and providing more time during the design flow for trying different ideas that ultimately improved the quality of the product. ■ Tokyo Keiki www.tokyokeiki-usa.com AWR Corporation www.awrcorp.com size does not compromise power handling as both the 885062 and 885071 meet a 28 dBm average power rating allowing circuit placement immediately following a final power amplifier. With extended temperature performance over -40 to +95 degrees Celsius and hermetically sealed for outdoor application, the 885062 and 885071 are even AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive applications.
